Crossrider extension keeps triggering false positives

Hi we run a small UK charity and have used cross-rider to develop a simple browser extension for our supporters to download. The extension is authenticated with a code signing certificate and fully authenticated on the chrome browser through the chrome store so it runs fine on chrome. Problem is AVAST running on IE and Firefox pulls it up as a threat. You can install if you disable AVAST then switch back on, but then it stops the extension firing its pop up. We have filled numerous false positive AVAST reports over the past two weeks but we seem to be getting nowhere! Any advice gratefully received.

The problem is that crossrider can be used for good or bad, and unfortunately the majority of cases are bad being used by browser hijackers

Could you screen shot the Avast alert so that I can see what it says

Hi, here is a screenshot from trying to install on firefox a few minutes ago.

OK click report as false positive, fill in the form
Under the additional info state that it is a charitable toolbar and not foistware. Add a link to this topic
Fill in the other data and submit to virus labs
Then trigger a manual update to upload it to the virus lab

Once done then it usually takes less than a day to update the data base, sometimes it can be a few hours if they use the streaming update.

Many thanks I will do that now!

Unfortunately we are still getting the same false positives with AVAST, I have sent another report this morning again with a link to this thread.

Hi, we seemed to get this issue sorted last week and it was installing fine without triggering AVAST false alerts but now it is once again being flagged as a threat. I have repeated the recommended steps again - filing a report with a link to this thread. Is there any permanent solution? Obviously crossrider extensions get updated so the version being used changes every few days, but the basic extension does not and the extension is fully code signed. Thanks for any advice.
