Is it a false positive? I know Dr.Web has always flagged that file as malware but this file is used to know how much RAM Memory you can put in your PC and tells you the right type to buy.

Now Avast is flagging it as malware, too.

Absolutly no problem with CrucialScan.exe on my systems.

I have used this in the past when looking for compatible RAM and had no problem with it, but it seems this crucialscan.exe has been detected by other scanners in the past.

What are the alert details, especially the malware name and when was it detected, on-demand scan or file system shield ?

I downloaded it again from hXXp://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/loader.aspx?Agree=Yes and it downloaded without problem, no alert by the web shield.

I was also able to run the scan and it completed successfully without alert, see images.

So where did you download this crucialscan.exe from and or is it the latest version ?

I guess it was a FP yesterday, because I downloaded it and scanned it today and now it does not say it is malware… rm

I don’t know because I would have been using the same VPS as you when I tested it yesterday, but I would have been using the latest version of the crucialscan file.

The main thing is that it is now OK for you.
