I have today got a virus detected warning on a program that came with crystalXXP.net’s Vista Inspirat Bricopack program, refresh, exe. The virus was Win32:Trojan[gen}. My Avast! is fully up to date. The bricopack program has been installed for about a year and I have scanned many times before and nothing has ever shown up. I think it is very unlikely that I have installed anything that could have infected my machine. I do not have e-mail on the computer in question. Is this likely to be a false positive? I am in the process of doing a boot time scan.
TIA,
REFT
Can you please send the mentioned file to virus@avast.com, preferably packed with ZIP or RAR with a password, and with something like “False positive” as the subject?
Thanks.
I just sent it, as requested zipped up. I also renamed the executable with the suffic “maybe virus”.
Thanks.
Just for the record (in case it helps) I have Avast 4.7.1074 VPS 071113-1. Running Win XP Pro, updated as of last night with all security etc. patches.
Reft, does the lastest VPS solve the problem?
False positive alert on file refresh.exe is already solved. All Brico Pack’s was added to our clean set
