This question must seem quite stupid but I am still trying to get my ‘old head’ around all this new technology.
Question: I currently have a paid maximum security licensed copy (for 3 Computers) on my existing XP.
I have just purchased a new PC with Win 7 as op system but before I change over I need to know how to completely delete the current licensed copy and then re-install a new copy onto to Win7 unit.
Installation of the license is still only on the one computer so effectively I have 2 copies I can install…(how?0 onto other computers in my home but at this stage all I want to do is that stated above and then still have 2 licensed copies available.
As you can realise I am apprehensive about deleting anything until I am sure that I am able to do the correct thing…
It isn’t so much the number of installs/activations (I presume you are talking about the my.avast.com account), but the number of active in use systems.
Presumably you are going to either replace the hard disk, in which case just install avast on the new hard disk and use the license on that, so long as you don’t exceed the number of systems that the license is for. If you only have three systems that should be fine.
As far as active systems goes it doesn’t mean that you can have more than 3 but only use 3 at one time; if the system with the damaged drive can’t be used or be protected by the installation of AIS it isn’t active.
For me the real questions is what do you mean by “I have activated Avast on 3 PC-s and no activation limit has left.”
e.g. how and where were these activated ?
