current scanner status: infected

i was scanning my files and it found an infected file. i moved it to the chest. however, the status of the scanner changed from “running” to “infected”. i then deleted the file from the chest and started the scan all over. i did this a few times. My question is, if i move the file to the chest, and let the scan run, is it running effectively if the status is “infected”? or, do i have to move the file to the chest, stop the scan, delete the file from the chest, and start the scan all over again each time it finds an infected file. thanks 4 the help.

I assume that you aren’t using the avast 4 server version of avast and this is simply in the wronng forum, if so hopefully one of the moderators can move it.

It only relates only to the fact that an infected file was found during ‘that’ scan, you should read nothing more into it.

You need only choose the action, ‘move to chest,’ etc. and allow the scan to continue.

There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.

Thanks for your help! ;D oh yeah, and i am using avast 4.7 home edition

No problem, welcome to the forums.
