current scanner status

Hi,
I’m new to avast and when i scan my computer it says current scanner status: infected. can anyone tell me what this means please? it is located on the simple user interface.

Hi,

this is a bit misleading, but it means that avast-Scanner has found a virus/malware somewhere on the PC; it does NOT mean that avast itself is infected.

  • Please look in the avast report/logs and tell us which virus was found where…
  • read the link “VirusRemoval” below
  • post a hijackthis-Log :wink: :wink:
