I have installed 5.0.462 on two XP machines, one a fresh system, and one an older system. The fresh system experiences cursor freeze often. Sometimes shortly after a boot, other times it may not occur for days. The older system seems more reliable, having this problem only one. I did a Forum search, but the references I found were for v 4.x. Where do I go from here?

The whole system becomes unresponsive. Running XP SP3 w/ all updates.
and what about ur other sw? (as asked above?)

The most offending machine was a clean install of XP, there are no other AV products at all.
doesn’t need 2 b another av, we also had a thread concerning fingerprintreader-driver/sw.
I don’t have a finger print reader… This is my wife’s machine, very little on it, all the usual stuff. If we can’t fix this I will dump AVAST for something else, and request a refund. This is not acceptable performance. My email to avast tech support has also gone unanswered.
Is unusual case - that is, an exception - and is not the rule with v5.0.462.
I have either supervise or run myself many installs of all 3 versions of v5 and have not encountered any problems, let alone issues like you seem to have. This does not mean the problems do not exist, but you need to provide more information about issues before they can be troubleshooted.
