Customer support: Technical vs language translation?

I’ve been trying to get a definitive answer from Avast support about the effectiveness on Windows x64 and I keep getting “should be” answers instead of yes or no answers. My support ticket went straight to a level 2 tech, bypassing level 1.

What I’m trying to determine now is, does the tech not know for sure, or is it a translation issue? I’m a native US English speaker and I do understand that Avast is HQed in the Czeck Republic, and the tech’s name does appear to be from that region so I’m going to assume that he is there and not in a remote office in another country.

In the supported operational systems, avast! is completely effective on x64.
