"Cybergeddon" is a hype to re-modell the existing Internet

Hi malware fighters,

Forget about the Chinese cyber-warriors and greedy ISPs, Michael McConell is the real enemy of the free Internet, where he warns for a cyberwar that we are about to loose, where he warns congress and the media for a near “cybergeddon”. So all people do on the Internet should become fully transparent and traceable. The so-called Google attack was proof of the fact that the USA is loosing this cyberwar. McConell gets enough room in USA press to ventilate his views, like where he warned against the Kneber-botnet, that he said was a new and unstoppable malware. Security vendors found out that it was nothing out of the ordinary. McConell wants more grip on the existing Internet, see: http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2010/03/cyber-war-hype/

Example: Recently CNN showed a “simulated cyber-attack” on TV, made your toes curl into a twist as it is fear-mongering television

For this is is where the IT world should worry. These proggies get to higher managment circles and because of fear and lack of knowledge they are going to support the wrong political decisions and part of those are put on the plate of the technicians,

Spam has been depicted as a major problem also, now with the right spam filtering in place it is a minor nuisance, and only a fraction of the problem it could be, “cybergeddon” is around the corner, but it has not arrived yet, and we won’t loose it. The only war that is going on is about the “soul” of the Internet and this is one we can loose indeed if fearmongerers get enough room, according to Wired’s Ryan Singel,
