Cyberhawk now known as ThreatFire

I’m sure all of you are familiar with Cyberhawk by now so i won’t make it too long.
Cyberhawk was an advanced behavior based anti-malware system that detected threats based on their actions, not how their files looked.
ThreatFire brings whole thing to a new level by adding Rootkit scanner and advanced rules editor even for FREE users, this time under PC Tools brand.
Team behind ThreatFire is the same as it used to be for Cyberhawk, even tech support staff (thats very good!).

ThreatFire is still in BETA phase (a very stable one btw), so don’t use it just yet in a productive environment.
ThreatFire is not meant to replace antivirus, but to supliment it. So give it a spin along with avast! ;D

Thanks for the very interesting info RejZoR well worth a look
Bonus in the free version AntiVirus engine with signature updates is turned Off
Cheers

Looks promising… I’ll take a look in a test environment created by Returnil.

is threatfire better than winpatrol? since both don’t use signatures but monitors behaviour. would there be any conflict if both runs in your computer. still a beta so a little precaution on this one.

Well ThreatFire run on-demand scanning of rootkits… feature not included in WinPatrol.
Also you can’t kill the process and the service (better protection) like in WinPatrol.
I think running both won’t bring conflicts. Not in my tests.

hope they will release the final working version soon as there’s still issues on the beta version. another layer of protection(real time) and its free.
