Hi, I recently purchased a D-Link DWA-192 Wireless adapter, and it worked fine up until I installed avast.
After I got avast installed, the internet speed of the adapter was intermittent where it would stop/go/stop/go after a bit.
Picking up the wireless adapter I noticed the adapter was really hot, so I uninstalled avast and everything went back to normal and the adapter performed perfectly.
I tried installing avast again and I had the same problem, so I uninstalled it and tried two other antiviruses that worked without issue.
I dunno why its bombing out the connection and causing the wifi adapter to overwork itself but I figured I would report it.
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Did you performed a repair of avast ?
Did you performed a clean installation of avast ?
Any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
This is most likely caused by Avast Home Network Security scan. We are tying to determine, if your device is safe and well secured.
This scan generates some load on the device. In this case, it seems that we are unintentionally overloading the device during scan.
We will investigate further and possibly do some performance tuning, to avoid such issues in the future.
Right now you can solve the issue by turning off Home Network Security.
To do so, go to Settings > Tools and set “Home Network Security” to “OFF”.
