Hi. I was trying to install network adapter software and inadvertently hit the wrong button when I got an avast pop-up message. Apparently something was added to the registry which now prevents me from installing the program at all. I had tried again last evening and when the installer got to the finish stage, it said I had “aborted” the installation. I am comfortable with changing the registry, if I know where I am supposed to, but am not sure where to find whatever changes were made. Can anyone help me on this? Thanks!
I just wanted to update my post to reflect that I was able to get back the wireless adapter. I’m not even sure what worked, as I had tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but kept getting an “aborted installation” message at the end, when finishing the install. Once the computer was restarted, I noticed the adapter was “on” and others were able to connect. I’m still curious as to where to find changes, but I did find one regarding my router in one of my logs, so I guess that is the place to check. Although I noticed there are a few folders containing logs …
