There’s no need to scan everyday.
Scanning is already done, while working.
avast! is no on demand scanner, it’s a resident AV.
i have an automatic scan while i go to sleep every night, some people think that everyday is too much, and honestly i think that too.
If u really want a daily scan, u can chose the Fast scan (not sure how is named in english), and monthly a Full Scan (or complete)
No need to make ur custom scan
And like Asyn say, if u r a regular user, u dont need a daily scan… Avast Shields will make their work perfectly…
I don’t see any need to run a daily scan. If you must, I suggest a “quick” scan. I run a full system scan twice a week. I also would not touch the “packers” settings. Default settings are fine.
With a resident on-access antivirus like avast, the need for frequent on-demand scans is much depreciated. For the most part the on-demand scan is going to be scanning files that would be otherwise be dormant or inert. If they were active files then the on-access file system shield would be scanning them before being created, modified, opened or executed.
I have avast set to do a scheduled weekly Quick scan, set at a time and day that I know the computer will be on. If for some reason my system wasn’t on, no big deal I will catch
Avast runs an anti-rootkit scan 8 minutes after boot, so that is pretty much covered. The Quick and Full Scans also include an anti-rootkit scan of lessor degrees of sensitivity, so again it is covered in the conventional scans also.
thank you guys. ii cued my quick scan on weekly basis and my full scan on monthly basis. ;D ;D ;D
I scheduled a nightly quick scan at 9pm. It takes just under 2min, and makes me feel better after using the computer all day. I don’t view it as overkill. I do a full scan once or twice per month with avast!, MBAM or SAS online scanner.
You’re welcome…!
Good settings, btw.
You’re welcome.
