I have a problem with avast 4.6, when i pick up my mail with outlook express on my server mail.zeelandnet.nl, the files with extension wmv and pps, when i have download it, and will read it, i get the message the files are demmage and the dowloaded files are missing, when i look in too my mail in, the mail is there, when i get the mail online with webmail and download it then i have no problems, also when i shut down avast, so i can say that the problem is by avast, but now is the question "HOW COMES"and how can i desolve that problem.
What operating system do you use? What account do you use - POP3 or IMAP? Does the problem really affect only WMV and PPS files?
Can you save (an example of) the corrupted e-mail message as .eml and send it to us, together with the corresponding “correct” message?

Can you please save the whole (corrupted) message to EML (using File / Save As… in Outlook Express) and upload the resulting file to ftp://ftp.asw.cz/incoming ?

You wrote that when you check the files on-line, they are OK. Do you think you could also give us the “correct version” of the files you have uploaded? That way, we could compare the corrupted and correct files and find the difference.
(I am not sure - can you check the file online first, save it to your disk, then download it to your e-mail client (so that it gets corrupted) and save the damaged file as well?)
Some more questions: if you turn off the Internet Mail provider from avast! Resident protection and then download the e-mail with the attachment, is it correct? (can you send us such an e-mail in .EML?)
Does the problem occur with all e-mails with mentioned attachments, or just some?
