Davinia Virus on BBC website ?????

Hello,

I have Avast 4.6.623 with VPS 0512-2 on a Windows XP SP2 machine.

When I attempt to access http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/english/4375155.stm I receive a Webshield warning stating that the page has the Davinia VBS trojan.

If I disable the Webshield I receive the same error message from the Standard Shield.

If I access the same page from my son’s PC (Win 98SE with AVG v.7), then the page displays without any warning.

Is this a false-positive, or is there a way to definitively prove/disprove the presence of a virus?

Thanks,

Jon Ingarfield.

I get the same warning with avast! 4.6.635 on WinXP SP2.

Looks like a false positive. Interesting.

Thanks for the heads up guys.

Exactly same warning here, BBC is a very reputable site so it must be a FP

BaNzI ;D

Wow - I didn’t expect a reply quite that quickly ;D

Thanks to you all for putting my mind at rest - I did wonder whether a BBC correspondent didn’t like us Worcester Warriors supporters  :stuck_out_tongue:
