I downloaded the update from Microsoft concerning the daylight savings changes. I then went to use System Mechanics to recovery some memory and twice it completely froze on me and required a reboot. Has anyone been having a problem with any software applications since they downloaded that time change update wizard from Microsoft?
No problems here, using that (same?) patch, maybe 2 or three months old now. Admittedly I don’t use System Mechanics, so your problem could well be specific to that.
The only thing I noticed was almost certainly just a coincidence of timing, one of the boards where I’m active required me to log in again from scratch. But they’d just updated their board software, so probably nothing at all to do with the change to daylight time.
Hi all :
Perhaps it would be wise to uninstall that "Update" !? Seems much easier
to right- click on the "Time" in the System Tray, select "Adjust Date/Time"
and make the change "manually" !?
I did just that Sunday morning, and when I sat at my p.c. I saw that the time was 1 hour behind again, so that is why I used the patch. I don’t dare try and uninstall it, God only knows what may happen then!! I wonder if I booted up in safe mode and chose “last know good configuration” if that would solve the problem with System Mechanic? I just may have to do a uninstall re-install. Anybody got any easy suggestions?
