So on my avast program everything seems to be functioning properly, and so I thought there was no problem, but going onto the website and checking my pc on the avaliable devices it says my real time shields, secureDNS, Antispam shield, Mail shield, web shield and file shield are disabled.

If you mean going onto your my.avast.com account, then there is a possibility this is a communication issue between it and your systems.

I would tend to believe what you see in front of you in your systems, are they saying your shields are disabled ?
If any were disabled then the avast tray icon would have a yellow triangle with an !
