DeepScreen Bug, nothing works

Hi

My first negative experience with the deepscreen was avast crash after closing the information.
If I try to open unknown files ‘exe’, sometimes avast blocks everything even the taskmanager. And all I can do is to press my computer power button till the pc shut down hard. :frowning:

I just disabled the feature deepscreen. I had a mass burial with avast 8 before so I wasn’t surprised that something like this will happen. ::slight_smile: Actually I’ve been waiting for that.

Necron, I’ve used DeepScreen a lot of times, as quite some of my apps are “unusual” and rare.
I only have one experience of the program not being opened after being scanned. Running the app again, open it.
Maybe you should try an installation from scratch.

I suggest an installation from scratch:

  1. Download the latest version of avast! Uninstall Utility and save it.
  2. Download the latest avast! version and save it.
  3. (Optional) If you want, save your avast! settings for later restoration (Settings > Maintenance > Back up).
  4. Uninstall avast! from Control Panel (if possible) and reboot.
  5. Run the avast! Uninstall Utility saved on 1 in and follow the instructions. Reboot in Normal mode after that.
  6. Install avast! using the setup saved on 2. Register your free copy or add the license key for the paid versions. Boot.
  7. Check and post the results.

Please, be patient, boot when it’s said to boot…

Nah I don’t think so. But I deleted avast 8 with avast! Uninstall Utility from the begining anyway as I always do. I had problems with the autobox with avast 8 and the only way to fix the problem was to set it to ask manual what to do.
But since that is impossible, I have to deactivate it completely.

I have tools and games that avast just don’t know. Some of them don’t work on windows mode. If it goes to fullscreen mode avast deepscreen freezes everything even the taskmanager.
