I have the profesional version and I use the advanced user interface. I made some change in the options in the task. I dont remember well, what were those changes. Now I want to undo that changes and return to the default options. How I do it? I need to do a repair?
I don’t think it would help; if you changed the options, they are changed.
What task did you edit? Is it a problem that you changed the default settings? Just set it as you wish… (besides, only a few options can be changed for the default tasks, so you probably didn’t change much).
In the “scan: local disks” task I dont remember what packers are selected by default. I noticed that if you check “all packers” option the list change of color but the “check” mark is not in each packers. Is it better to check every packers individually? or is the same that select “all packers” option.
Honestly, I don’t remember the default settings of packers for “Scan: local disks” task (probably some subset of common packers, like ZIP, WinExec, …). However, you can set whatever you want.
As for selecting the packers: if you really want to use all packers, it’s probably better to check the “All packers” checkbox, instead of selecting all packers individually. What’s the difference? If you select the packers individually, that’s exactly what packers will be used. If a future avast! update adds support for a new packer format, it will not be selected automatically for this task. If you check “All packers”, however, the newly added packer will also be user after the update.
