OK bear with me and I will get a free copy- I did not know that they charged
Apologies for butting in with a ‘nearly on topic’ question.
When f8 didn’t produce safe mode (to access the repair option), I would have held down the power button until windows 7 crashed - after which I find it always offers safe mode on reboot.
Since Essex is top man round here I suspect this must not be considered a recommended approach. Just wondering why (if you’ve got time - I realise you’ve got a lot on with all the redirect threads)?
To be honest that is a method I have used when I have the machine in my hands

Follow the steps on this page http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/windows-7-recovery-disk-boot-disk/

Yep then you can run the "repair my computer " option which may resolve your association problem
Are they the same processor type (ie 32 bit or 64 bit)?
I don’t know how much it matters for a recovery disc, but if they aren’t it may be something you would want to let essexboy know.
Can you click internet options in control panel >advanced tab>reset >reset internet explorer ( at bottom).
Does this help at all?
