Is there anyway to turn off the “default scan” which is set for the quick scan? I can’t uncheck the “default scan” box as nothing happens if I try. I looked through all the settings and can’t find anything relating to that. Thanks.
do you mean sheduled scan?
attaching a screenshot would help…
No,as soon as I click on the scan on the UI home page the quick scan starts by itelf
I think you cann’t. You can only change it to some other type of scan. That button is to quckly start a scan you usually use.
OK,I just noticed that if I open the “scan now” under ,security>antivirus, then you can chose which one you want to start from there. Thanks its no big deal.
Personally the Quick scan is more than enough, doing a more thorough Full or Custom scan is I believe a wasted effort.
- With a resident on-access antivirus like avast, the need for frequent on-demand scans is much depreciated. For the most part the on-demand scan is going to be scanning files that would be otherwise be dormant or inert. If they were active files then the on-access file system shield would be scanning them before being created, modified, opened or executed.
I have avast set to do a scheduled weekly Quick scan (more from habit than real necessity), set at a time and day that I know the computer will be on. If for some reason my system wasn’t on, no big deal I will catch up on the next scheduled scan.
