Today after downloading Avs I got Red Package Broken message. If I go back and manually download it shows up to date 5/11/11 but it isn’t since download installation halted. I tried repair and to be sure updated the Program separately. Avast 4.8.
About Avast shows file Version as 110510-1
- Avast! Manual Virus Definitions Update Download - avast! Virus Definitions Update - Manual Download VPS Update, ensure that you download the one for avast 4.8 (virus definitions, vpsupd4.exe, approx 41.84MB). - Save the file to your hard disk, locate where you saved it and double click it and that should carry out the virus definitions update.
Note: Ignore the file name in the images of the page that is displayed after clicking the download link, they are for the main program, not for vpsupd4.exe which will be downloaded.
Thanks David. I downloaded it yesterday and waited till today to make sure the regular update worked and all was perfect.
No problem, it seems it was related to a problem in the VPS Version 110510-1.
It was related to that update as our clients running the ADNM were having a similar issue that was fixed with today’s update
