Defragmenting VRDB (avast.int)

Hello all,

I noticed that the VRBD database on my PC consists of ~1500 fragments. Windows defrag can’t fix it as the avast.int file is always locked. I tried to stop all providers, all Avast services - no luck.

Is there way to temporarily unlock this file, so that defrag could defragment it?

Avast 4.8 home, fully updated, XP SP3 Eng.

Temporarily disable toe avast self-defence module - Program Settings, Troubleshooting - don’t forget to enable it when you are done.
