I’m trying to delete url.db. I have tried the method listed here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=81400.msg665786#msg665786 , but in Windows 10 my own computer won’t give me permission to delete it. I am logged in as the Administrator and I have tried taking ownership of url.db and I still don’t have permission. :-\ I really don’t want to uninstall Avast just to remove it. Anyone know why that’s there in the first place and how to remove it?
There is a difference between user with administrator rights and the real administrator account.
The last one needs to be activated before you can use it.
But you should be able to delete the file if you disable the avast self defense first (as has been explained many times on this webboard).
