Today i started up my Neverwinter game to do some levling and then i went to eat so as i normaly do.
So i turned it off beacuse i knew i wanted a break after i ate. but then a hour later i wanted to start level again,
but when i started the game avast went all crasy on me and deleted everything that had to do with neverwinter.
So i tryed re-installing it but same thing happend. Everything got deleted.
So my question is why cant it let it be alone i’ve had it installed for a week and all of the sudden it decides to be dangerous ?
P.s. No uppdates what so ever on the game nor avast was done under this period of time.
This is happening to everyone today lots of posts about it. It is totally on avast’s side.
to get around this restore the icon and then you have to shut off the shield for 10 min or 1 hr or until you reset. once you shut it off you can then launch the game and play.
it is seeing the exe after todays update as a filerepmalware
I went to global exceptions and put the game folder in the list. It still puts the game in the virus chest when I try to run it. Whats going on? PLEASE fix this. I’ve been a huge fan of Avast since 2005, maybe a few years before. Mostly because I seldom had a false positive and it does keep my system well protected. I have recommended it almost everyone I meet that has a computer. I have personally installed it on more than 500 PCs over the years and almost every gaming friend I have uses it. It is simply the best.
That said, a bunch of them are having the same problem, I send the file to the labs and a few of them did the same, also looking for ways around the problem in the meantime but I’d rather not turn off the shields.
I’m a patient guy, but I know most gamers are not known for that virtue, and I have read a ton of people in the official game forums complaining about the same problem. Some are telling other players to switch to some other AV (Inferior AV in my opinion). I will not do that and risk my files, I’d rather wait for it to be fixed, hopefully soon.
