Delphi 6 programs will NOT run (silently blocked by AVAST)

A strage thing is happening for some days (probably after an AVAST update). Today is November 20th, 2015 and AVAST is up to date.

ALL programs that were generated with Delphi 6 (Personal) will NOT run; it seems that AVAST blocks them in some way.
When scanning the program(s), AVAST reports that no threat was detected. However, when launching the program(s), nothing happens (except the cursor is “working in background”). No AVAST message appears, either warning or error/threat.
If I disable all shields, the program(s) will launch and work properly. Again, when re-enabling the shields, no program will launch.
When the program is prevented from running, its instance cannot be found in TaskManager’s list.
Delphi 6 compiler works fine, except the “Run” command will block the created program and freeze the compiler.

For the moment, I’ve excluded the paths where I develop/compile my applications, so I may continue working.
However, there are several applications in different directories and/or USB disks, and excluding them is quite complicated.

So:
- AVAST blocks ALL Delphi 6 generated EXEs
- ALL Delphi generated programs, when scanned, are “no threat detected”
- Excluding directories is a limited workaround

Is there a solution for this problem ? (except the limited workaround mentioned above)

Thank you

Sounds like the HIPS is interfering here.
You can change the behaviour/disable it in the file shield settings.

Thank you for the tip.

Unfortunately, the sensitivity of HIPS was already the lowest possible, so I couldn’t lower it.
I’ve unchecked both options, but the behavior remained the same.

Update to the latest version (2016.11.1.2241): https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=178580.0

Thank you again for the prompt reply

YES, 2016 version allows Delphi programs to run

AVAST displays a scan-window, concludes the program is ok and allows it to run.

Thread can be closed.

MANY THANKS TO Asyn !!!

You’re welcome.
