Hi
The latest update of Avast 11.1.2245 and defs 151210-0 are resulting in all my delphi exe’s hanging.
Delphi XE output types: Console apps and WinForms apps.
Completely empty apps and sample apps hang. Delphi XE Update 1.
I’m running Avast on Windows 10.
Has anyone else seen this? I have to disable the scanner to do any work
Thanx
Scott

Partially resolved:
Finally reinstalled Avast and it now displays a dialog saying it’s analysing the file and takes 15 seconds + each time I build.
So, the hang has gone away and the application finally appears. The behaviour seems to have changed.
What is special about the Delphi binaries? .NET apps don’t result in this behaviour?
Thanx in advance
Scott

It sounds like the deep screen scanner at work.

Ok, so I can accept that there is something going deep, however, creating new applications with no code in them (templates rather) that are seen as untrustworthy enough for a system delay; in my opinion; has tipped the scales somewhere. It appears we need to get back to basics again.

I would say disable deepscreen scanning and see if it makes a difference.
