Deploy to SBS 2003

Hi,

I’ve just upgraded to the AEA Console (Suite Plus) 8.0.355 with clients at 8.0.1490.

I’m ready to deploy version 8 out to our server (SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003). Does the deployment task require a re-boot of a server, or does it just start and stop the services? I know I can choose not to reboot in the deployment properties. There is a version 7 client on there now.

Thanks,

Len

Do yourself a favor.

Don’t do the deploy.

I am on SBS 2003 server with SOA and 40 Outlook Clients.

The new Outlook Plugin with Version 8 is crashing everything.

The deployment did not even work for me. Read my threads.

Do it at your own risk… :frowning:

I have about 12 clients deployed with Ver 8, some XP, some 7, with Outlook 2010. I’ve had no complaints with the plugin so far. But I haven’t done the server yet. I’ll keep an eye on your thread before I proceed.

But back to my original question…do you know if the server will require a reboot if I do deploy there? I would have to schedule it after hours if it does.

Thanks,

Len

Sorry I never seen your reply.

Yes the server will ask for a reboot.

I did mine after hours.

Sorry for the delay but I have been busy.

How is it going so far?

you need to reboot since files that cant be replaced while they are in use will be replaced at reboot/restart.
