Deploy to Vista in workgroup

Hi there,

I’m trying to deploy the managed client to a machine running Vista that is in a workgroup, but it fails with an ‘access denied’ error.


05/03/07 11:46:39:   Slate: WNetAddConnection2 \\Slate\C$ Slate\Grant error 5 (Access is denied)

Has anyone successfully deployed to Vista in a workgroup?

You might be experiencing the limitations posed by by the “Remote UAC” feature (cough, cough :)).

Thanks Vlk, that’s exactly the kind of article I tried to search for, but Google was stripping the $ out of my searches, so it turned up millions of useless results :

I’m surprised Vista has network access at, surely that would make it more secure

I’ll give it a try & let you know how it goes.
