Deploying Managed Packages on Non Domain Clients

I have installed ADMN and deployed the client package to the domain computers. I have 3 computers that I need to know how to install avast on them. Here are there scenarios. My concern is from my understanding the vps doesn’t update unless the computer is on the domain and admn pushes the vps to the client. For the purpose of this example the domain is located in South Carolina, USA and these are all laptops. 1st and 2nd computers running XP, 3rd running vista.

1st computer - is permanently in New York and only logs on through HTTP/RPC to receive email.

2nd computer - is in New York, while in New York only logs in through HTTP/RPC to receive email, but once every 3 or 4 months comes to South Carolina, hooks into the domain and does work.

3rd computer - is in South Carolina this is her home laptop that she brings into work ocasionally and connects to the domain. ???

Hi, I don’t understand your question, maybe my English. ???

You can made a MSI packet and send it, via email or ftp, to the 3 PCs.

You can create a group in the AMS for these 3 PCs and put the public IP of your office as AMS Server in this group.

You only have to redirect the avast! TCP ports in your router to your AMS Server.

If you do that, you can see the 3 PCs in your ADNM console.

I will try this. I have never installed avast through ADMN on non-domain computers so i was unaware of how to do this or make it functional.

Okay so I created the MSI package… and it works great on two computers… but it was a one shot and it worked. I had to uninstall it from one computer and then when I tried to reinstall the MSI package it does nothing. It starts up then just goes away?

Right click the MSI file, click uninstall. Then re-run the installer. This fixes the silent/donothing install bug.
