I was looking for a setting/option so that when a deployment task is run against a client, that install (or the console) will send me an SMTP alert when the process completes - either failure or success.

That way I can fire off a bunch of deployment tasks from various company’s consoles that I manage and the results will just flow to my email. Then I only have to log back into the console for those clients where there was a failure, rather than having to keep all of those consoles open and refreshing status or having to go back and check each one for the results.

this is something that I don’t test, by I think that is the procedure you need:

I suppose that you have create an “Updating Task”, so you have to create a “Reporting Task” and in the “Task Chaining Properties” link the “Reporting Task” with your “Updating Task”.
