Hello - I have just installed avast! & everything is fine except I can’t remove a long blue bar containing the words “About avast!” located just above the taskbar. I don’t need or want it there. How can I remove/delete it & prevent it from appearing again.

Go to Advance tab of the Standard Shield provider (and Internet Mail too) and uncheck the option ‘Detailed information about action…’ 
Do you need other configurations? See ‘Settings’ on my signature
I must say I’m not completely sure what blue bar you mean… a screenshot would be helpful.
