Desktop probs after gaining virus

Got a virus the other day and since it infected my pc the pc has changed my desktop and i cant gain access to my files …music,family album, movies and all my bookmarks.

Any ideas how i get my original desktop back , the files are still there coz i did a search .

Help Please.

What was the virus/malware and what program detected it ?

What was the file name, malware name and location of the detection ?

Run the RogueKiller programme first, then follow up with OTL and aswMBR

Superantispyware found it and title was ‘trojan proxy’ and ever since my original desktop hasnt been seen .Siince it happend my screen is showing a hp screen like its has been restored and like its been turned on for the first time with only a few shortcuts .

Warning …Im not very Tec savvy so normal english is prefered…TA

OK, Follow the Guide link that I gave in my first reply and in the order given by essexboy a malware removal specialist.

Instructions are given as simply as possible if you aren’t sure of something just speak up.

Ok, ive used Adwcleaner so do i upload the Log here or ignore ?

you attach the logs here

but as Essexboy said run Rougekiller first then follow up with OTL and aswMBR
and you can attach the AdwCleaner log also

OTL … saved as desktop short and still cant use it so placed it in docs and still no joy…

Can you confirm that after Roguekiller your files and menus returned

Ive got RK reports, Maleware Reports and adw reports .OTL wouldnt do anything and aswMBR is running shortly.

you may try running OTL from safe mode

aswMBR will only save as .txt and OTL still dont do anything.
