Looking at msconfig, was surprised to see DesktopLightning. But cannot delete it through Control Panel. Doesn’t seem to be causing any problems that I know of, but I’d like to get rid of it.
Saw a program by malwarebytes but it mentioned getting rid of browser extensions. I don’t want that, or if some are bad, I want control and knowledge of what should go, not some arbitrary software deciding for me.
I started it and it ran in the CMD window instead, already requesting a restore point, so I closed it out with the X as it seemed to be taking off on its own with no chance for any input from me.
All I want is a way to remove the specific DesktopLightning without having long-winded scans or other things. AND where I have control over what goes or stays.
(I once had ESET - TERRIBLE program! Deleted files without my consent and messed up a program I had paid for, deleted some of the files directly (didn’t take the program itself but critical files so it would no longer work). It did NOT put them into quarantine so they could be restored. No “by your leave” involved! Furthermore, the phone number on their website didn’t work, I told them via email, and then months later the disconnected number was STILL on! I was so glad to dump that horrible program!)
Is there a specific tool to get rid of DesktopLightning?
