lately my college became invested with many kinds of malware, so I need all of your help to give me dome information on this
Actually, I’m sort of a IT consultant among my friends in the campus, when they got invested by a virus they contacted me. Then i said to them to capture the invested file…
is the invested file contain the complete information about the virus/ or even the virus itself?
how can i be so sure that that file is the invested one when avast cant detected it?
3.can anybody give me a sort tutorial on virus and other malware, btw i’m studying at a medical faculty right now. so i’m not soo smart on this thing… the only book i have read on this is about macro virus…
In answer to 1, a virus may originate as a single file, but if activated it can spawn many new files, download new files from the internet and make system changes. So an infected file may be only a component of a virus or worm.
In answer to question 2, you can submit the file to an online multi-engine scanner, (I.e., one which submits the file to be scanned by many different AV companies.) If you find a file which is identified as infected by other scanner but not by avast!, please do submit the file to avast!, as I know the team will want to add it to the definitions as soon as possible, and anyway, they all love the extra work.
