Hi
I’ve been running MC Shield since it was recommended to me on here.
I’ve had one interesting result:
MCShield ::Anti-Malware Tool:: http://www.mcshield.net/
v 2.8.3.24 / DB: 2014.1.18.1 / Windows 7 <<<
24/01/2014 15:01:12 > Drive E: - scan started (Philips ~3890 MB, FAT32 flash drive )…
E:\autorun.inf > Suspicious > Renamed. (MD5: fe82c5aba821d7968a81594b1e1e9aaa)
=> Suspicious files : 1/1 renamed.
::::: Scan duration: 2min 21sec ::::::::::::
Virus Total is giving all green lights for this file, but…?
The first time I scanned this drive MC Shield also picked up installer.exe as suspicious, but the result for autorun.inf has persisted in later scans.
FP or really suspicious?
Thanks
Paul
Hi,
Do you have more files on USB, or it is clean?

Yes, there are more files on the USB stick. I have used this stick for backup, and downloading from internet as well as a MP3 player - which it is!
This is the last scan using the latest version of MC Shield:
MCShield ::Anti-Malware Tool:: http://www.mcshield.net/
v 3.0.3.26 / DB: 2014.1.25.1 / Windows 7 <<<
25/01/2014 13:01:45 > Drive E: - scan started (Philips ~3890 MB, FAT32 flash drive )…
E:\autorun.inf > Suspicious > Renamed. (MD5: fe82c5aba821d7968a81594b1e1e9aaa)
=> Suspicious files : 1/1 renamed.
::::: Scan duration: 2min 38sec ::::::::::::
Thanks for helping with this.

Hi Pondus,
I had a look at the virustotal analysis before. The file ID info and the fact that the detection ratio is 0/50 are enough to say that the suspicious file found by MC Shield is likely to be safe, and this is an FP.
Thanks
Paul
