Detection rate!! :(

I hope Avast works on there Detection because in all of the test they don’t come out that we’ll versus the other Antivirus like F-Secure , Avira , Symantec , Bitdefender etc etc. I hope that the Avast 7 version wi’ll detect better because i like Avast but i am testing F-Secure 2012 at this moment because it detects better.

Greats,

Darts

How are you testing?

AV- Comparitives
AV-Tets

This is the avast! forum not about F-Secure 2012 internet security ::slight_smile:

I know but a “WAS” a big fan of Avast and a Avast user!!

avast have one of the highest detection rate in the business and with very few false threat.

Avira says to be a bit better in detection rate then avast but the usually have higher false threat then avast.

Looks like Avast free is going to serious competition from AVG Antivirus 2012 free this year: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2372364,00.asp

But i am a Home user.

Really? ??? Why are you saying that? Can you quote?

And you don’t think AVG will have a whole lot of trouble from avast7 ;D

I eagerly await Avast 7 and comparison tests :-\

I care more about how much new and active malware avast detects.
A lot of malware samples in these tests are practically “dead”.
Avira free may have a little more detection rate than avast free but avast have more features and it have web shield.Avira free will ask you to install “ask toolbar” to enable the web shield protection.
The eternally advice: don’t depend on only one security software.

False. Never depend on multiple security softwares because they can cause conflits in your computer, which will have a serious effect on your computer’s saftey and performance.

Absolutely stupid post as you can not even spell correctly! ::slight_smile:

What is wrong with you? All you do is attack people for no reason. I wish this forum had an ignore option.

I don’t mean that you should run two or more antiviruses at the time.
There are many free on-demand scanners, sandboxing, firewalls and HIPS that will add more layers to your security.

+…4?
And browser security add-ons, system image backups, router w/FW, virtual pc…ok, I’m running out of ideas after that
