Did a scan and found " :\ " file cannot be deleted....

Any suggestions ?
The file itself was :\

Why can’t it be deleted, what errors are displayed, file in use, etc. ?

If you have XP, vista or Win2k (all 32bit), you could enable a boot time scan. Right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus, a memory scan will take place followed by the opening of the Simple User Interface, Menu, ‘Schedule boot-time scan…’ Or see http://www.digitalred.com/avast-boot-time.php. Don’t opt for deletion (you have no options left), always send to the chest and investigate.

I have xp pro 32 bit.

I’m running the home avast, I dont see an option for “run boot time scan” when I right click.

You do not right click, you click on the avast icon on DESKTOP or right click the one in taskbar, if you right click on taskbar icon click Start avast! antivirus then a screen should pop-up saying avast! 4.8 home click stop memory test. Now that avast! had loaded click on the icon in TOP LEFT CORNER OF WINDOW. One of the options will be Schedule Boot time scan.
This will scam your computer nextime you reboot (before windows has loaded). Press esc to skip the scan when the screen comes at boot-up.

Read the post again, you have to start the Simple User Interface first, it would be easier if you checked out the link I gave to see what to do.

Thanks, we are not all rocket scientists like you folks. Us 2nd graders appreciate pictures. hehe.
