I assume its nothing but thoughts anyone?
hi digmor crusher,
Normally an error such as this simply means avast! cannot scan it due to fact that the file scanned is a password-protected archive. It cannot know the password, and cannot open it to scan, and so reports this fact/error.
An adobe flash installation program is an example of a password-protected archive.
Two things:
- You have changed certain settings within avast! to scan say, archives, or other. Try reverting all settings back to default settings and see what happens then. Any change?
- You have an UEFI secure boot system, and avast! cannot open the boot file because it is password protected?
