I did a scan w/Avast last night and the results came back with two infections:
ELF:Php
JS:TrojDnldr-16[trj]
The scan also says that many of my C:WINDOWS/Software Distribution/Download (all of which are either cab or dll filles except one and it’s a xml file) files are corrupted.
I have put the 2 infected files in the chest but don’t know what to do exactly, esp since it is saying that I have Windows files infected.
Anybody know about these infections and how I may have gotten them and whether or not there is a way to remove them and restore my corrupted files???
Do you have any other security program(s) on your computer, so as to get
a “2nd Opinion” !? “Trojans” are best dealt with by antiSPYWARE/
antiTROJAN program(s); do you have any of these ? IF NOT, I recommend
you install, then use the FREE version of “SUPERAntiSpyware” from www.superantispyware.com .
No, I don’t. I had gotten a real bad trojan infection last week and had to completely take my computer back to basic OS. The only thing I have had on my computer since is Avast. I was considering AVG but was wondering if it is okay to run with Avast. Is the one your suggesting okay to run in conjuction with Avast.
Also, have you ever heard of either one of the infections? With Google search pretty much no results came back. As well as a search on this site, the only results here was my post and someone elses.
Should NEVER have 2 antiVIRUS programs "running" on a computer, so
IF you are talking about AVG AntiVIRUS, it should NOT be on your
computer while Avast is . Can have multiple antiSPYWARE/antiTROJAN
program(s), as long as ONLY a maximum of One of these programs in
"running". I currently have Avast, FREE ver of SUPERAntiSpyware AND
AVG AntiSpyware, BEST downloaded from www.ewido.net on my
computer without problems .
"Name(s)" of "Infection(s)" usually vary from company to company .
