I have had a virus on my computer for over a week. Not knowing what I was doing, I deleted it several times, but it kept coming back–I got a virus alert at least a dozen times. Finally somehow this file is gone and hasn’t come back, but since then I learned it’s not safe ot delete files unless you know if they are important to your computer and not just a virus.
The virus was called Trojan-gen {other} and the file name was Windows\System\wzsko.dll
So far the programs I use daily seem to be working ok, but I’m wondering if this file was necessary for some reason I haven’t found out about yet. Does anyone know or know how to find out?
Most probably it’s an infected (viral) file.
It’s not on my computer and does not seem to be an existing file… Google returns nothing…
But, as you say, sending to Chest is safer than deleting, specially files on the system folder…
Take care
Thanks Tech for checking all that out for me, I feel a lot better.
When I send something to the Chest, can I just leave it there indefinitely, in case i need the file later? Or do I have to figure out what to do with it from there?
You can leave files in the chest indefinitely - they can do no harm in the chest, and if you need the file later, you can still retrieve it from the chest.
If you are certain that you don’t need the file anymore, you may delete it.
Liz, if you use your computer frequently, 30 days will be more than enough to let the file there.
But, again, don’t worry, the file won’t hurt staying there. Probably you have more than enough space for it in your HDD 8)
