I did a boot scan and got two decompression bombs and two viruses, PUP: Win32:Downloader-LZS[PUP] and PUP:Win32 Toolbar-D[PUP]. Both decompression bombs have something to do with firefox but I guess they are harmless.
During the scan I was asked what I wanted to do with the toolbar thing and I pressed 1, delete. Now when I go to the scan log and try to delete the downloader, it doesn’t find it. If I try to move it to Chest, it gives this: error 0xC0000022.(-1073741790). Downloader’s file name is …AppData/Local/Temp/utt80DB.tmp.exe, toolbar’s …AppData/Local/Temp/utt80DB.tmp.exe|>[embedded_I#369c04]|>nsis.hdr. Were they in the same file and did I remove both of them while the scan?
Decompression bombs is just avast saying that there is a arhive that will unpack to a very large file…so the scanner wont do it
search the forum for “Decompression bombs” with quotes… and you should find lots of info
PUP is not virus, just a warning that you have a program that can be used for good or bad.
PUP (potentially unwanted program)
