I hate all these Flash and Java Exploits, its getting annoying :frowning:

Hi Steven Winderlich

It is just this “old vulnerabilities won’t go away” issue
and that is why java stays a pain in the proverbial parts.

Refresh your mind again on Java insecurity here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_security

I did not install java now as I rarely would have use for it inside the browser.
It isn’t on my OS either as the term java applet was turned into a “dirty word” by malcreants.

Well, due to Minecraft i need to have Java installed, but i try to keep it updated as good as i can.

I cannot do much more, these exploit malwares are also the reason why Youtube moved to HTML 5.

Im also unsure if i will stick with Avast or if i will move to Kaspersky Multi-Device or some else AV in
the future, i do not even run any AV right now on my system.

Havent got infected or exploited until now.

Hi Steven Winderlich,

Turn it to “click to play” it is a tad safer that way.
And regularly visit here the forums:

I keep all the plugins disabled.
In Firefox/Pale Moon I use Plugins Toggler :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/plugins-toggler/?src=ss

Hi guys, I dropped Flash completely. Was seldom used anyway.

Why? Read here: http://www.net-security.org/malware_news.php?id=2955 & http://blogs.cisco.com/security/talos/angler-variants

After the patch still it is best policy to set plug-in settings to “activate and play”.
It just gives you some time to consider whether activating the plug-in for that action is OK.
