Because the Thunderbird eMail-Client seems to be more secure than Outlook, I switched to the Mozilla-Product.
In Outlook it wasn’t difficult to setup the eMail-scanning-engine because the Outlook/Exchange-Plugin did this automatically (all inbound and outbound eMails where scanned).
The Thunderbird-Scanner requires to activate the “Internet-Mail” Plugin (at least I think so). And with this plugin there is a small programm called “Mail Protection Wizard”. After I set up this program I recognized that inbound and outbound messages aren’t checked for viruses. The space after “last scanned” in the “Internet-Mail” plugin remains empty
Does avast! support the Thunderbird-Client? I thought Mozilla Mail is supported and since TB is based on Mozilla Mail it must be supported too (again at least I think so )
And this are not all problems :
I have two accounts to manage in Thunderbird - but I have the suspicion (:D) that avast! supports only one (saw that you can insert only one SMTP-Server and one POP3 Server in the Mail Protection Wizard.
I would be thankful for every help you can offer . Avast! is too good to be replaced by another Scanner with eMail support
You’re right, the Internet Mail provider could be configurated for Thunderbird.
avast does support more than one pop/smtp server. There is no restriction. That ones, the ‘default’ pop/smtp is used for another purposes (send files for virus analysys, etc.). Do not worry about that.
I suggest you make a search for ‘Thunderbird’ in the forums to learn more about the configurations.
