Directory exclusion doesn't work, still blocks

What’s going on here? What am I doing wrong?

I am an IT guy trying to use PSExec run a script I wrote using AutoIT to (suprisingly enough) remove all remnants of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 from our computers.

(Symantec removed the ability to run their CleanWipe.exe utility remotely so I’ve made an AutoIT automation script to click all the right buttons in the new non-remote CleanWipe UI.)

However Avast is getting in the way and blocking the AutoIT script (a compiled EXE) from running. An Avast “Are you sure you want to run this” message appears on the desktop of the remote computer when I try to run the script via PSExec.

Within the Avast Enterprise Console, I tried to create a global directory exclusion across all computers running Avast to permit these scripts to run, however, the directory exclusion apparently does not work.

EDIT: After fooling around trying some random things, it seems the site-wide exclusion directory MUST contain an asterisk at the end for it to work.
