Disable AV incompatibility pop up message

My system is Windows XP SP2, both Norton Antivirus 2006 and Avast 4.7.871 are installed, however only the Web scanner is used in Avast. Everything seems to work fine, don’t notice any conflicts between the 2 AV softwares.
However, whenever the computer boots, Avast always pop up an incompatibility warning message, have to click on the OK button to allow Avast to proceed. Is there any way I could stop this pop up message from showing up at boot time?

Remove one of them as soon as you can… sooner or later you won’t even able to boot :o :o
For sure, both antivirus ARE INCOMPATIBLE.

NAV uninstall or other antivirus uninstall for compatibility reasons: http://www.claymania.com/av-uninstall.html.

  1. I suggest you remove NAV, of course ;), through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
  2. Use Symantec removal tool following the three steps defined in the SymNRT tool info.
  3. Boot.
  4. Install avast! Boot.
  5. See what you get.

This is hardly what I would call everything seems to work OK, avast has crippled itself to ensure no conflict which might lock-up your system (that is why your getting the warnings and disabled avast! services on boot). That is why everything seems OK and only one element is running.

As Tech says you need to make a choice and I would also suggest the removal of NAV and join the many happy avast! users who used to be NAV users.
