I just reformatted again like I do every couple months, but my problem I am having is with the new version just released it keep’s asking me to run a boot-time scan every 6 or so hours and I select no and it does the same think again 6 or so hours later. I cant see any option to disable it on the box and in the Maintenance menu it says there no schedule set for it. I’m getting to the point of uninstalling since I can barely play games since it will exit me from an MMO to show the dialog box.
Can you show us a screenshot of it asking you to run a boot scan. I haven’t experienced this myself, with almost the same environment as you (Mine is Home Premium)
The image attached is what I get, with all the years I’ve used the service I never gotten this right after an install. I tried running it before but it wants to scan more then just Windows partition so I stop it. I also don’t use Gamer mode ever, usually I just disable it if needed.
I checked logs and no infections were detected the day it was installed, and the window has started popping up since the same day after re-format. Usually my detections I get are usual fake ones of visiting a website like Facebook, etc because of ad’s.
I tried a reinstall of the program and still had same issue. I’m gonna give Avast 6 a try and see if it happens with that, if it does then must be an issue with the new introduction of the 64-bit boot scanner they just added.
