Is there a way to disable putting a desktop icon on the desktop when deploying to Avast! clients?
Is this not possible?

I have not seen this possible, but i never dove into messing with the ini file in the setup.
The way I solved it is using GPO settings. The shortcut is placed on the public desktop from the client. This is a standard location. The name of the shortcut is avast.lnk (where avast is the full name with spaces). I have GPO set to remove that shortcut.
Im running server 2008R2 and Win7 clients
