I am an IT support technician that has installed avast! Free on numerous computers for clients. However, I have never used the Remote Assistance function.
Since I myself have 3 computers on which avast! Free is installed, when I went into my avast! account recently I saw the option of “Connect Remotely” for 1 of my PCs (Windows 8.1 64-bit).
However, on my other PCs it has the statement “Remote control is not allowed” beside it.
As far as I can remember, I installed avast! Free using the same settings.
On both of the aforementioned PCs, I have disabled “remote assistance” in Windows.
I am just wondering if there is a way I can disallow “remote control” on the Windows 8.1 PC?
Thanks airlab. On my screen it does NOT have the “Allow remote control of this computer” option under “Troubleshooting”. So I think it is safe to say that I have un-checked that option while I was installing (I always use “custom install”). Also, when I try to use my other computer to start the remote connection, it would just keep showing a message “starting connection” and would not actually connect.
Remote desktop under AccessAnywhere worked great.
What’s up with this new connect to remote desktop I cant get it too work.
No longer works on the 7 computers I have all over Long island and upstate…all running with Avast Premier 2014 that where connected now they can’t under upgrade to 2015.
Its one thing too upgrade a program, but totally bad karma to change it with out any documentation for the End USER.
Connect to a Remote desk Top feature documentation Please. Thanks
