Disable scan of outgoing Mails

Hello,

I do’nt find the right solution to switch of the scan of outgoing mails.
Under ( my translation, I’ve got a german Version)
Real-Time-Guard → Mail-Guard
I switched off the CheckBox : check outgoing Mail
but my ThunderBird cannot send Emails.

I have to switch off totally the Mail-Guard. Why that?

What really means “check outgoing Mail”, if I cannot send my Mails.

And, no I don’t want Avast to check my outgoing Mails.

reagards,
Steffen

Well for sure you would want to scan outgoing email as it could be your first indication that there is a hidden/undetected spambot trojan on the system (which doesn’t use your local email client).

In fact I would go a step further and bump up the Heuristic sensitivity in the Mail Shield, Expert Settings - So it is best to get to why you can’t send.

Does any of your email accounts (the ones you can’t send) use SSL/TLS for communication ?

See - avast! 5.x: SSL Problems The Mail Shield may not scan some e-mails - see http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=458.
